Meat shops must be shut down in delhi for the next few days in occassion of Navaratri, says South Delhi Mayor. The statement was highly criticized by the Mp of TMC party Mohua Moitra.

The south delhi mayor made a statement on monday to shut down all meat shops for the coming days in occassion of Navaratri.
TMC MP Mohua Moitra has highly critized the remarks and said this decision goes against the fundamental rights of the citizens that has been granted by the Constitution of India.
In addition she added that the fundamental right allows her to eat, shop and sell meat whenever one likes.
The statement issued by the Mayor was widely critised not just the tMC MP but others alike.
The tweet of MP Mohua Moitra reads, ” I live in South Delhi. The Constitution of India allows me to eat meat when i like and the Shopkeeper the fredom to run hs trade. Full Stop. “

As per the reports, the mayor of south delhi said, ” we will strictly close all meat shops. When meat is not sold people will not eat it.”He further added saying, “we have taken this decision keeping in mind the sentiments of Delhiites. The people complained to me. The fasting people were facing problems over the cutting of meat in the open. This is not a violation of anyone’s personal liberty. ”
