A massive scale of violence has been reported from Jammu and Kashmir between the supporters of JKLF chairman Yasin Malik and the Security forces in Maisuma locality. The chases broke out on the 25th of May 2022 as the whole town was shut down ahead of the court’s verdict on the sentence of the separatist leader’s terror funding case.

Violence reported at Srinagar
As per reports from NDTV, several people gathered including women near the separatist leader’s residence at Maisuma and was heard raising slogans in support of Malik. The police officials said that the protesters moved towards the Maisuma chowk and clashed with the forces.
The protest turned violent as some of the forces had to use tear gas shells and in turn, the protesters threw stones at them.
The area close to where the protest was reported was completely shut and hence no injuries were reported.
Malik was charged by the Delhi High Court under the stringent anti-terror law in regard to a terror funding case in Jammu and Kashmir. He was pleaded guilty to all the charges pressed against him. The matter was heard in Court on the 25th of May 2022 to announce punishment.
