The front of the Fronx features a split LED headlight setup and a large front grille similar to the Grand Vitara. The profile of the vehicle features chunky wheel arches, a sloping roofline, and a protruding tail, giving it a crossover-like appearance.
The cabin layout of the Fronx is similar to the Baleno hatchback, which is known for its premium cabin. The Fronx comes with a 9-inch infotainment touchscreen, automatic climate control, sunroof, and a 360-degree camera. The Fronx also gets a premium audio system and the theme for the upholstery is similar to the Grand Vitara, but with normal fabric.
On the safety front, Maruti has not left any stone unturned, as the Fronx comes with six airbags, ESC, ABS with EBD, hill-descent control, and rear parking sensors. The Fronx comes with two engine options, the 1-litre Boosterjet turbo petrol engine with mild-hybrid technology producing 100PS and 148Nm and the Baleno’s existing 1.2-litre Dualjet petrol unit. The Fronx is likely to be priced from Rs. 7 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards and will rival the likes of the Hyundai Venue, Nissan Magnite, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, and the Renault Kiger.
