Marks for Cash: Assam police raid office of Kamrup Inspectorate of Schools in connection to new exam scam

Higher Secondary and Higher Secondary Leaving Certificate Examination (HSLC) are both very important for every student. It helps amateurs in the long run, and buying certificates in exchange for cash is seen as a heinous crime.

A police team raided the Kamrup Inspectorate of Schools office in connection with marks for a cash scam involving Class 10 students and picked up four SEBA officials.

Kamrup District Inspector of School (IS) Madhab Deka, SEBA Co-ordinator Phulpahi Nath, IS Office-Grade III employee Prashanta Das and grade IV employee Sibeswar Kalita were caught by police for allegedly being involved in providing better marks to Higher Secondary Leaving Certificate Examination (HSLC) students in exchange for cash.

Following the same, the police team conducted a raid and seized several laptops, mobile phones, and documents from the office of the Inspectorate of Schools along with a considerable amount of cash.

On the other hand, the government decided to discard Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations and announce the results of the examinations based on recommendations made by two expert panels.
