“Khela has happened in West Bengal, it will happen in Tripura and Assam, and it will happen in Delhi in 2024,” West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said on Saturday, referring to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Mamata Banerjee also announced that she would hold a meeting of all chief ministers to explore a federal structure, urging them to cooperate.

Mamata Banerjee v/s BJP

West Bengal

In a veiled attack on the BJP, Mamata Banerjee said, “They [BJP] are harassing Uddhav Thackeray and Arvind Kejriwal for everything. They will only use their photo on vaccine certificates. I ask them to use their photo on the same death certificate. Even my state was using my photo on Covid certificate, but I refused and asked to use the national flag.”

She also questioned the BJP-led national government’s policy of bringing people back from Afghanistan. “Why won’t our people come back from Afghanistan safely? What is your policy?” Mamata Banerjee asked.

Questions related to poll violence in West Bengal on the CPRF examination

Mamata Banerjee said the BJP-led Central government is attempting to “divide the central forces now” about the CAPF (Central Armed Police Forces) exam paper, which included questions about “poll violence in Bengal.”

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) held the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) 2021 examination on August 8, and it included questions about “poll violence in West Bengal” and farmers’ demonstrations over three agriculture laws. Candidates were required to produce a 200-word essay on “West Bengal electoral violence.”

Mamata Banerjee responded by alleging that the UPSC asked questions “provided by the BJP.”

“You ask questions on the post-poll in the CAPF exam? Has this ever happened? The one who set the question should resign. I request that those who do PIL should check this. Do you ask questions on the Delhi riots? You are dividing central forces now,” the chief minister said.

Mamata’s allegations against the BJP

Slamming the BJP, Mamata Banerjee said that “when the BJP government in Delhi can not compete with us [TMC] in politics, they use agencies like the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Enforcement Directorate (ED).”
