According to information, Chief Jackson Ronghang of newly formed insurgent group Karbi Democratic Liberation Front (KDLF), was killed in an encounter at Rongmongve of Karbi Anglong district.
Allegedly he was behind 10th December kidnapping of construction worker
Reportedly, he was involved in the kidnapping of construction workers on a bridge construction site near Rongmongve.

An operation was launched
As per sources Police said, “Acting on a tip off about Ronghang’s possible movement in the jungles near the village, police launched a search operation in the area. During the search operation, gun fire broke out between the security forces and militants in which Ronghang received gunshot wounds. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead,”.
Also, the other rebels managed to escape. And the police further recovered a pistol, ammunition and several accusatory documents from him.
