Gujarat MLA Jignesh Mevani along with nine has been sentenced to three months in Jail by the Gujarat High Court for taking out an ‘Azadi March‘ in 2017.

An Azadi March, was taken out without the due permission of authorities in 2017 from Mehsana to Banaskantha in july 2017 in order to mark the incident of Una Dalit Flogging case which included Aubodh Parmar and Reshma Patel. The High Court ordered the accused to pay a fine of Rs 10,000 each along with a sentence of three months in jail.
As per reports, a separate case will also be charged on the Congress Leader, Kanhaiya Kumar as he was not present at the time of framing of charges.
Jignesh Mevani who was recently arrested by the Assam Police was released on bail last week. He was arrested by the Assam Police Department for his derogatory tweet on Prime Minister Modi.
