The terrorist group Islamic State (ISIS) has been found utilizing TikTok, to recruit teenage suicide bombers for strikes during the Christmas season.
Dozens of TikTok accounts are being used to spread ISIS propaganda
There are dozens of accounts on the platform that are spreading ISIS propaganda. “ISIS using TikTok to recruit young suicide bombers in a bid to carry out Christmas attacks,” The US Sun wrote on Twitter.
One of the videos they came across urged supporters to carry out terrorist strikes in Western nations around the Christmas holidays with the motive to cause numerous casualties.
Christmas was presented in the video as “the celebration of the Kufar and Crusaders”, “They do not believe in Allah, and they make fun of the sacred. They are Shaytan (Devil) slaves,” it said.
As the clip showed scenes of Christmas markets and merriment, the narrator stated, “Prepare yourselves, O soldier of Allah, to shed the blood of these Kufar.”
The host encouraged viewers to dress up as “them” and become suicide bombers who would attack crowds. He challenged viewers to “place fright and horror in their hearts” by carrying explosives hidden behind the disguise and “exploding it and sowing panic and dread in their hearts.”
The video was uploaded on an account that was being used to propagate ISIS propaganda, Sun reported. The account has been active for the past 18 months, and thousands of people have viewed it.
Several more accounts were discovered to be doing the same thing on the short-video platform, in addition to the particular video. An account has a video of a woman in a burqa posting surveillance video of buildings and infrastructure in Germany. “May Allah accepts you into Paradise,” the bio of the account read, “A lion fights for its prey until it has it and turns its enemies into its flock.”
