An advertisement by an Indian perfume brand has been receiving backlash after the company aired an advertisement that people found to be highly objectionable and insight ‘rape culture.’

The advertisement shows ‘how four men discuss who gets the ‘shot’ on the last remaining bottle of perfume but shows a woman instead of the bottle. In another scene, a man and woman walk into a bedroom and talk about getting a shot, but it’s really about getting a ‘shot’ of the body spray.

As per reports, the Delhi Commission of Women, Chief Swati Maliwal has written a letter to Anurag Thakur who is the Union Information and Broadcasting Minister as the advertisement had provoked a lot of controversy over the matter.

The commercial has been criticized on the grounds of capitalizing on the fear of women that they have to go through every other day.
