Independence Day: BSF dispatches Operation Alert along India-Bangladesh border

Ahead of the 75th Independence Day festivities, Border Security Force (BSF) troops have been put on high alert for forward movement along the India-Bangladesh line as the line guarding power has dispatched “Activity Alert”, authorities said. 

Shailendra Kumar Sinha, agent investigator general (DIG), Regional Headquarters, BSF at Cooch Behar in West Bengal, said: 

“Taking into account the Independence Day festivities, the Border Security Force has dispatched ‘Activity Alert’ along the global boundary with Bangladesh in the state.” 

“In like manner, the officials and jawans from all parts of BSF take part in the activity which will proceed till August 16,” Sinha added.

‘Activity Alert’ has been dispatched considering the danger from Bangladesh-based Islamist fear-based oppressor gatherings and radicalized bunches just like other Indian guerilla bunches in the country that have recently begun working in the states, which are contiguous Bangladesh, the BSF official said. 

He said the 04 Corps under Regional Headquarters Cooch Behar is positioned along the India-Bangladesh line. 

The limit of this outskirts is 171 km, of which the majority of the spots are without security fencing.

“Severe vigil is being kept up with in the whole region along the India-Bangladesh line and orders have been given to manage any untoward movement along the boundary,” BSF said. 

BSF authorities have likewise dispatched a mission to learn about the nearby individuals living across the line. 

The line guarding power has asked individuals living along the global line to advise BSF in the event that they notice any dubious individual or article quickly in a bid to keep up with tranquillity on the boundary.

Security powers on Jammu and Kashmir encounter
