Series of attacks on young girls in Hojai
Residents of Hojai have been left shocked and horrified by a series of attacks on young girls in the area. The attacks, which have been occurring over the past few days, have involved assailants riding bikes and attacking girls with sharp objects, causing deep injuries to their hands. The attackers have been wearing masks and typically target their victims at night.
The situation came to a head on Wednesday, when a girl was attacked while walking to her PG in the New Market area of Hojai. The attacker, who was wearing a mask, rode up on a bike and slashed the girl’s hand with a sharp object, causing a deep wound that required six stitches.
Unfortunately, this was not an isolated incident. Similar attacks have been reported in the area, leaving residents feeling unsafe and vulnerable. On Thursday evening, another girl was attacked by two boys on a duke bike in Govandapally, Hojai, at around 7:30 PM.
In addition to these attacks, there is also a man who has been going half-naked to girls’ PGs in the area at night, stealing undergarments that are hanging on the balcony.
Hojai Police arrest five suspects in connection with the attacks
The police have been quick to respond to these incidents, and on Saturday, they announced that they had arrested five men in connection with the attacks. Four of the men, identified as Titumoni, Subrata Das, Gopal Rai, and Rocky Das, are suspected to have been involved in the bike attacks. The fifth man, Amar Rajkumar, was involved in stealing undergarments.
The police are currently interrogating the suspects to get more information about their involvement in the attacks. The authorities have assured the public that they are doing everything they can to ensure the safety and security of the residents of Hojai.
The undergarment thief who was caught on CCTV has been identified as Amar Rajkumar. He was frequently going to girls’ PG in the area almost naked and stealing undergarments that were hanging on the balcony. His actions were not only illegal but also deeply disturbing, and left many residents feeling uneasy and unsafe. Thanks to the quick action of the police, Rajkumar was arrested and is now facing charges for his crimes. His actions have highlighted the need for increased vigilance and security measures in the area, and have underscored the importance of respecting women’s right to privacy and safety.
The attacks have left many people feeling frightened and anxious, particularly young girls who are the most vulnerable. Residents are calling on the police to take swift action to bring the perpetrators to justice and to ensure that incidents like these never happen again.
The local community is also coming together to support the victims of these attacks. Many people have taken to social media to express their outrage and to offer their support to those who have been affected by the violence. Several PGs and women’s groups have also offered their support and are working to raise awareness about the issue.
The incidents in Hojai are a stark reminder of the challenges that women and girls continue to face in India. Despite progress being made on many fronts, gender-based violence and harassment remain pervasive, and there is still much work to be done to ensure that women and girls are safe and free to pursue their dreams and aspirations.
The authorities must take these incidents seriously and work to bring the perpetrators to justice. They must also take steps to ensure the safety and security of all residents, particularly women and girls who are the most vulnerable. The community must also come together to support the victims and to work towards creating a more just and equitable society for all.
