The High Court(HC) of Punjab & Haryana grants divorce to a physically challenged man. As per the reports, the man is alive with 50 percent hearing loss & using a hearing aid. He had alleged that he had dropped weight from 74kg to 53kg because of the mental pressure of his wife.
Complaints filed by the woman against her husband & his family were all fake
The High Court relied on the fact that the criminal complaints filed by the woman against her husband & his family were all fake, which amounts to mental pressure to the husband to an extent where he could have been killed without anyone’s knowledge. The HC also dismissed the plea filed by the wife against the husband’s family.
The division bench, including Justice Archana Puri and Justice Ritu Bahri, passed the orders while dismissing the cases filed by a woman from Hisar, requesting quashing of the order dated 27 Aug 2019, and by this, the Family Court had allowed the husband’s plea and granted divorce.
About the couple
The couple was married in 2012 & had a daughter. The man is an employee in a bank & the woman works as a teacher in a school in Hisar. The daughter lives with her father.
Wife alleged harassment at hands of the husband, in-laws
The man’s case revealed how the wife was hot-tempered. She is a spendthrift who never tried to adjust herself with him and his family. According to him, she would always pick up fights over small things which made him feel humiliated in front of his parents & relatives. But kept silent, hoping good sense would fall upon her in near future, but her behavior remained the same.
Accusing his wife of her cruelty, the man was alleged before the Court which says how he has fallen to 53 kg after that. The woman said, Denying the allegations.
She talked about how she always performed her marital duties with love & respect. She also told police that after 6 months of marriage, her husband & his family members started harassing & humiliating her for dowry.
During this type of experience
The HC found that the woman had left her daughter in the matrimonial house & never tried to meet her before. It also came to the fore that the husband’s family had never asked for any dowry & had even paid for the woman’s higher studies after the marriage.
