To facilitate the extension of the Cycle Factory Flyover from Cycle Factory to Barsapara Junction, the Guwahati Traffic Police has issued a fresh advisory outlining significant changes to traffic routes and regulations. These measures, effective from August 19, 2024, aim to manage vehicular movement and ensure public safety during the ongoing construction.
Key Route Changes and Traffic Regulations
In the advisory, several critical adjustments have been highlighted to accommodate the construction work and minimize disruption to daily commutes:
- One-Way on Birubari Tiniali to Barsapara Tiniali Stretch:
- The stretch between Birubari Tiniali point and Barsapara Tiniali will operate as a one-way road. Vehicles coming from Arya Nagar/Birubari Tiniali will be permitted to travel towards Barsapara Tiniali only. This measure is intended to streamline traffic flow and reduce congestion during the flyover’s foundation work.
- Partial Opening for Two-Way:
- Upon completion of the initial construction phase, a portion of the aforementioned stretch will be reopened to allow both-way traffic between Birubari Tiniali point and Cycle Factory point. This phased reopening is designed to ease travel conditions as the project progresses.
- Diversion for Vehicles from Lalganesh Side:
- Vehicles approaching the Cycle Factory from the Lalganesh side will face a diversion at Barsapara Tiniali point. Vehicles will be redirected via Kula Basumatary Road, in front of ACA Stadium, Barsapara, towards Dhirenpara Tiniali on A.K. Dev Road. From there, motorists can either take a left turn towards NH-27 or a right turn towards Ambari Tiniali/Fatasil Chariali, depending on their destination.
Public Cooperation and Safety Measures
The Guwahati Traffic Police urges residents and commuters to cooperate with the new regulations to ensure smooth traffic flow and avoid any inconvenience.
