Guwahati: Just when everybody in the city were having a sigh of relief thinking that now the pandemic is a “Guests of Keech Days”, the suspension of classes in the Handique College due to detection of new Covid cases have disappointed them all.
As per a circular from the office of the College Principal cum Secretary, Utpal Dutta, Guwahati’s Handique Girl’s College has been announced Micro Containment Zone for seven days, starting from December 1.
The order:
The order read, “In view of the detection of COVID-19 positive cases among students and staff of Handique Girls’ College, the Kamrup (Metro) District Administration has declared the college as a Micro Containment Zone for seven days.”
It also spelled that any sort of individual’s vehicle who do not belong to the campus is prohibited.
As for now, all the physical classes shall remain dismissed for the mentioned tenure and the sessional examinations have also been postponed by the faculty.
Further, the circular had requested all the departments of the institution to conduct their classes online.
