The Guwahati City bus services shall not ply on several routes today amid standoff between the bus drivers and transport department.
Guwahati city bus services suspended
As per reports, the drivers and the conductors of the city bus have alleged that various issues have been troubling them. A protest has been organised in Basistha area of Guwahati against transport department’s unwillingness to listen to the plight of the drivers and conductors.
The problems have arised as many areas of Guwahati lack designated stoppage points.
The areas that have stoppages are ususally occupied by smaller vehicles. This often leads to traffic congestions and attract heavy fines from traffic police officials.
