Gunostav to be held in Assam from 11th May 2022

The Education Minister of Assam, Dr Ranoj Pegu addressed a Press conference on Monday, wherein he stated that the First Phase of Gunotsav will be held from 11th of May 2022 to 14th of May 2022. The Second Phase will begin from 23rd of May 2022 to 26th of May 2022 and the third Phase will begin from 1st June 2022 to 4th June 2022.

As per reports, the minister addressed the gathering at the Axom Sarba Siksha Abhigyan office. He said, “The objective of Gunotsav is to identify learning gaps, to ensure learning enhancement and achievements of learning outcomes by all children at the primary level, to assess the performance of schools in areas like curricular, co-curricular, availability and utilization of infrastructure, to indicate learning gaps and to design effective strategies to meet up these gaps, to ensure greater participation of all stakeholders starting from teachers, students, administrators, communities and enhance accountability among them for quality education and to support the school and education system so as to improve the quality of education and ensure better functioning of schools”

The minister further said that this year, the Gunostav holds emphasis as the pandemic derailed the education system to quite an extent thus leaving many young students stranded and anxious for their future.

The Education Minister, thus believes that Gunostav will help assam upgrade the quality of education especially in the government run schools and colleges and initiatives like Performance Grading Index will help to give insights on the student’s progress level.
