Since its inception, the store has survived all conditions be it the biggest earthquake that hit the state, or the shifting of the capital to Dispur. The history of Doss and Co
Doss and Co pvt LTD is a private undertaking which started its operation on the 1st of march 1957. The Cally Building was constructed in 1910 and Doss & Co started in 1865 shifted to this building 1915. The company is registered under the Registrar of Shillong and is classified to be a non government company.
In today’s market date, the authorized share capital of the private undertaking stands at Rs 500,000. And the capital share stands at Rs 150,000. The store holds a variety of goods without having a specialization. The directors Tapan Coomar Doss and Manash Coomar Doss holds the company’s leniency rights.
Located on the KB road of Jorhat, the store is one of a kind in the entire township. The heritage building structure is something so unique about the store that it brings back the colonial time frame in mind.
