“If any eligible person does not take COVID vaccine, he will be deprived of government facilities in future. So, collect the information based on the election structure and provide vaccine to all the eligible people of the based completely this process within September,” stated State Health Minister Keshab Mahanta.
He said this when he attended a review meeting held at the office conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup district to collect the status of the vaccination process in Kamrup district.
Implementation of the new strategy to ensure complete vaccination
While discussing the vaccination process of Kamrup with Deputy Commissioner Kailash Karthik N and the iterative officers of the district and district health department officials, Keshab Mahanta advised them to adopt a new strategy to ensure complete vaccination.
Ensuring Vaccination Through the Electoral System
The minister has also been instructed to ensure the completion of the vaccination process based on the electoral system, to enable 100 percent of the vaccination based on the district.
He stated that the vaccination should be done at the polling station level and even door-to-door if required. The minister also added to provide the training to all concerned quickly without any further delay. The government will ensure the availability of vaccines. Till this preparation is done, he asked to continue the existing process of vaccination.
Advice Of Dr. S.Lakshmanan Over The Vaccination Drive
Attending the meeting, Dr. S. Lakshmanan, Mission Director, National Health Mission, Assam, advised keeping at least 200 to 230 vaccination centers active for the drive to be successful.

At the end of the review meeting, the minister expressed satisfaction over the vaccination of more than 3.5 lakh people of Kamrup in August and thanked all in involved in the process on behalf of the government.
The meeting was attended by Director, Health Department Munindra Nath Ngatey, Chief Minister’s OSD Hemanta Chaudhary, and Administrative Officer Pomi Baruah.
