In quite a bizarre condition, a fetus was seen to have been developing inside the stomach of an infant. The infant is reportedly 40 days old and the incident has been reported in Bihar’s Motihari District.
Fetus-in fetu; rare medical condition
As per reports from Hindustan Times, the infant was taken to the hospital after signs of bloating and discomfort in urinating. After several tests that were bring conducted by the doctors, it came to light that the 40 days old infant suffered from a rare condition.
According to Dr Tabrez Aziz, a senior doctor at the Rahmania Medical College said that, “The infant had undergone a surgery and his condition is now stable. A fetus was seen developing inside the stomach of a 40-day-old infant.”
The Fetus-in-fetu is a rare medical condition that is often seen in babies wherein a twin is found in the body of the other. It is estimated to occur in 1 out of 55,0000 babies.
