Fake gold seized in Assam: Assam Police arrested two persons – Md Abu Hanif (26) and Md Baharuddin (23) hailing from Sonapur Reserve village in the Lakhimpur district – from North Guwahati last night.

It is mentioned that Additional SP Asif Ahmed and Gauripur Police Station OC Dilip Nath Hazarika conducted a search operation of vehicles. The police also seized 2 kg fake gold in the model of small boats and four small pieces of Jesus Christ’s statues.
The Police seized the fake gold, cash amounting to Rs 1.05 lakh and four mobile handsets from the duo. According to the police, the duo checked in at a lodge in North Guwahati yesterday and tried to sell the fake gold.
Furthermore, officials intercepted a car and upon a thorough search, the fake gold items were found. The car, a Hyundai Venue bearing registration numbers AS 07U 5525, was also seized from their possession.
