The government of India has announced an excise duty reduction on petrol and diesel.
Excise duty on Petrol and Diesel to be reduced by Rs 5 and Rs 10. According to ANI, the new prices will be implemented from Thursday.
According to reports obtained from ANI, Government sources suggest that the reduction in excise duty on diesel will be double that of petrol and will come as a boost to the farmers during the upcoming Rabi season. States urged to reduce VAT on petrol & diesel to give relief to consumers.
The rates of fuel crude oils, petrol, and diesel had skyrocketed over the past few months, causing chaotic tension among the general populace.
Ministry of Finance has mentioned that the reduction in excise duty, shall boost consumption and maintain inflation, it will also help the poor and middle classes.
Currently the price of Petrol in Guwahati stands at Rs 106.1 per litre. The High rise in Petrol has already caused lots of trouble for people in the City who use vehicles for their day to day travelling.
