After a high-profile meeting of CM Himanta Biswa Sarma with Officers in Charge from police stations all over the state, the number of pending cases in police stations has been coming out.
It has come to light that around 37906 cases are pending in the Police Commissionerate, Guwahati, since May 2021. Out of these 37906, the Dispur police station under Guwahati East police district alone has 1113 pending cases. Other than this, Paltan Bazar police station of Central Police District and Jalukbari police station of West Police District have 4874 and 4000 pending cases, respectively.
Under Central Police district, the number of pending cases are as follows: Chandmari- 3174, Noonmati- 893, Geetanagar- 869, Pragjyotishpur- 173, Satgaon- 312, Pan Bazaar- 1341, All Women- 91, Latasil- 642
In West Police District, the pending case numbers are: Bharalumukh – 1409, Garchuk- 1091, Fatasil Ambari- 758, Azara- 773
In East Police District, the numbers are as follows: Hatigaon- 938, Basistha- 3751, Bhangagarh- 799, Khetri- 186, Sonapur- 701.
