People ordered food online instead of going out during the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic. The strain of the delivery executives from different food delivering apps like Zomato and Swiggy increased as the number of orders multiplied.

Although the workers continued working diligently, various reports of discriminatory actions against delivery executives have surfaced.

A mall in Udaipur recently sparked anger when it forbade food delivery executives from taking the elevator but instead just urged them to take the stairs. People expressed their displeasure on social media, claiming that such behaviors are “racist” toward these people.

‘Corner House’ bans delivery executives from using restroom

A restaurant called ‘Corner House Ice Creams’ hung up a sign prohibiting food delivery executives from accessing their restrooms in a similar occurrence.

While the actual whereabouts of the restaurant are unknown, it has once again brought attention to the disparity that delivery drivers face.

People are outraged by the situation. Some people complained that the delivery executives were being handled unfairly and that they shouldn’t be treated this way.

While some people criticized the restaurant, others countered that establishments aren’t always able to permit so many delivery partners to utilize client toilets.

A Person on Twitter and a journalist published a photograph earlier this month of a note stating that Swiggy and Zomato executives were not permitted to use the elevator and must alternatively use the stairs.

According to the commenter, the structure referenced in the tweet is a food court/mall in Udaipur.

People were outraged last week when a circular released by a mall/food court in Udaipur disclosed a new and odd guideline for food delivery operators.
