The three BJP run municipal corporations have been asked to submit a report by the Delhi Government on the Demolition drives that have been carried out by the central agencies since the 1st of April 2022. The report comes days after an Anti-encroachment drive was carried out by the BJP that triggered the AAP Government.
BJP run municipal corporation questioned
AAP leader and the Chief Minister of Delhi said that the anti-encroachment drive that took place in Delhi has left lakhs of people homeless and he further mentioned that if this destruction continues, then it will be the biggest destruction in the Independent country.
As reported by NDTV, the chief minister of Delhi said, “Delhi has not developed as a planned city. More than 80 per cent of Delhi can be called illegal and encroached upon. Does that mean you will destroy 80 per cent of Delhi?”
He said, ” They are reaching colonies with bulldozers and razing any shop and house. Even if people show them papers to prove that the structure is not illegal, they do not check them”.
The drive has been started by the BJP municipal corporations as many of the illegal migrants and Bangladeshi live in the city illegally. The drive carried forward by the municipal right after the communal clash raised several questions on the timing, and motive and grabbed headlines.
