On Tuesday, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya announced that the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI ) had conferred restricted emergency use authorization to Biological E’s COVID-19 vaccine Corbevax for children aged five to twelve years and Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin for children aged six to twelve years.

According to sources, the DCGI has also given Cadila emergency use authorization for its ZyCoV-D for an additional dose of 3mg with a two-jab inoculation schedule 28 days apart for people over the age of 12 years.
Meanwhile, according to DCGI official data released by the Ministry of Health on Tuesday morning, India has reported 2,483 new Covid-19 cases. In the last 24 hours, the number of active cases in the country fell to 15,636 and the number of recoveries rose to 1,970.
Over the course of 24 hours, the active COVID-19 caseload was reduced by 886 cases. According to figures updated at 8 a.m., the death toll has risen to 5,23,622 after Assam reconciled 1,347 deaths and Kerala 47 due to the infection.
According to the Goa government’s Covid-19 expert council, a possible fourth wave of the pandemic will hit the coastal state in June or July.
Moreover, the committee’s head, Dr. Shivanand Bandekar, has stated that specialists have advised against dropping guard on Covid-19.
People should wear their masks in public locations, according to Bandekar, to prevent the sickness from spreading.
According to the sources report, committee members evaluated the state’s preparedness for another coronavirus outbreak and stated that the state has enough medicines on hand to deal with any situation.
