The culprit in the Gulmohar apartment case, in which a young girl who served as a secretary for dairy operator Prateek Vaish tragically died from the 10th floor of the flat, admitted to his crime, the police revealed on Wednesday.
“Prateek Vaish has confessed to his crime, wherein he said that to get physical with her, he first tried to lure her with money, but when she refused, he forcibly raped her and then pushed her to death from the balcony of his 10th floor flat,” according to a statement released by the City Police Commissionerate.
“Injuries all over her body were the primary cause of death, ” they added.

Accused apprehended
A police officer added that the charge sheet in the case would be filed soon. The culprit has been apprehended, and police are conducting additional investigations.
SK Vaish, a former marketing manager for Parag Dairy, lives in the Gulmohar Apartment on the 11th floor with his spouse Durga and their child Prateek in Kalyanpur’s Indira Nagar neighborhood.
Prateek operates his dairy business from flat number 1006 on the 10th level.
Victim identified as the accused’s assistant
Prateek reportedly managed to bring his assistant to the apartment on the pretense of office work around 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, according to ACP Kalyanpur Dinesh Kumar Shukla.
“However, she fell from the flat’s balcony around 6 p.m. under mysterious circumstances and later died of her injuries,” ACP added.
The inhabitants of the building and locals came after hearing the girl’s screams and called Kalyanpur police.
Victim’s top found to be torn with serious injuries
According to police sources, marks of struggle were discovered on the girl’s corpse during the inquiry. Her top was also found to be damaged, according to sources.
The girl’s mother, who hurried to the scene, informed authorities that her daughter had started working as a personal assistant for dairy owner Prateek Vaish three days before the incident.
Brijesh Srivastava, ADCP West, arrived at the scene and oversaw the inquiry. The body was later taken to the mortuary by the police. The offender was apprehended after an FIR was filed based on a complaint by family members, and he admitted to his crime.
The teenager had called some of her pals from her cell phone a few moments before the event, according to the police.
“She had most likely requested assistance from a friend. Investigators are now extracting the CDR (call detail record) from the phone to determine the name of the person with whom she had last spoken, according to the police.
When the police questioned the offender, he said that the girl leapt from the balcony after speaking on the phone with some young people.
