According to the Health Ministry, India’s Covid curve improved slightly today, with 2,38,018 new cases reported in the last 24 hours, down 7% from Monday’s estimated 2.58 lakh daily instances.
310 people have died as a result of Covid in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of people who have died as a result of the virus to 486,761.
Cases still surge in numbers
The total number of cases in the country today stands at 3.75 million. There are 8,891 occurrences of the Omicron variation in this group. The current cases now account for 4.62 percent of all infections, while the COVID-19 recovery rate has dropped to 94.09 percent nationwide.
Meanwhile, the country’s total immunization coverage reached 158 crore doses today.
