Assam: COVID-19 cases detected in Dibrugarh’s Siksha Valley School; institution declared Micro-containment Zone

The Assam Government has served an order to cease the Siksha Valley School in Dibrugarh district for a tenure of 7 days, reportedly declaring it as a micro-containment zone in order to prevent the further spread of the COVID virus. 

It is alleged that multiple cases have been detected on the school premises. 

Resumption of the classes:

The classes are to be resumed after the 7-day tenure with respective permission from the Deputy Commissioner. 

Steps by the authorities:

The Principal and the authorities of the institution will subsequently ensure that the school building including the entire premises desk and benches, toilet stations/drinking water station, etc are thoroughly sanitized.

Established in the year 2018, Shiksha Valley School is a co-educational day-cum-boarding school that offers dynamic and inspirational education to help students equipped with skills and knowledge to compete against the 21st-century world. The school was built in order to pursue excellence and devotion to education and seeks to harmonize academics with skills and practical knowledge to provide for an all-around education system. 

Meanwhile, as many as 3927 COVID cases are confirmed in the Dibrugarh District where 1501 are active and 2409 have recovered from the virus.
