The Controller of Examination, Cotton University announced in its latest notification that the UG 5th Semester examination which was scheduled on 21st January is now rescheduled for 1st February 2022.
This comes after several students of UG 5th Semester have protested against the authority for conducting exams amid rising covid cases in the state.
Cotton University announces Offline exams for UG 5th Sem Students
Speaking to ‘The North-Eastern Chronicle’, various students have complained about the previous notifications which state that examination for UG 5th Semester will be held offline while the entire University shifts to online mode.
Memorandum for Online Exams
Various Class Representative (CR) of the UG 5th Semester have also sent a memorandum to the authorities seeking online exams.
Will the authority take risk?: Students
“Who is going take the risk? Will the authority take the responsibility if I become positive while appearing for exams? We need online exams!,” one student informed the team of The North-Eastern Chronicle.
Meanwhile one of the students said, “the biggest concern for us is there are a lot of students who comes from different places so travelling in this is situation is not safe, and there’s the possibility of catching covid while travelling”.
Special exams for COVID Positive students
In its previous notification, the authority of Cotton University has also announced that the university will conduct special examinations for students who are in isolation, however, students have heavily criticised this notification.
