A complaint was filed against Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut for her comments on the freedom movement on November 11th by Preethi Menon, the Aam Aadmi Party’s national executive chairperson.
On Thursday, November 11th, Preethi Menon, National executive chairperson, filed a FIR against Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut. Preethi Menon, along with Mumbai Police, filed a charge against Kankana for making a seditious and provocative speech as a guest speaker at a Conclave.
Kangana Ranaut’s comment led to controversy
Her statements on the freedom movement have sparked debate, with her claiming that Congress is an extension of British tyranny and that India achieved “real freedom” in 2014.
Her words alluded to the BJP’s election in 2014 and the fact that India was given ‘bheek,’ which meaning charity, in 1947.
According to Kangana, history has been twisted and manipulated by omitting numerous details and denying many heroes the credit they deserve.
Tweets against her comment
Kangana Ranaut, after voicing her thoughts on India’s independence, announced that ten cases would be filed against her. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, RSS, could never accept that their British masters were forced to depart in 1947 and that their enslavement had no bounds, Congress leader Gaurav Pandhi tweeted. No surprise they didn’t hoist the tricolour for half a century, and the return of slavery in 2014 was their “freedom,” according to him, and he named Kangana Ranaut as one of them.
Varun Gandhi, BJP MP tweeted on the statement that “Insulting the sacrifice of Mahatma Gandhi sometimes, respecting his killer sometimes, and now the disdain for the sacrifices of Mangal Pandey, Rani Laxmibai, Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekhar Azad, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and lakhs of freedom fighters. Should I call this thinking madness or treason?”
Gandhi saw this as an anti-national act and a betrayal of those who had sacrificed their lives for the nation’s peace. Kangana Ranaut is a WhatsApp history fan, according to Shiv Sena leader Priyanka Chaturvedi, who also stated that all the sacrifices of freedom fighters, especially Jhansi ki Rani, failed to appease the master.
