Justice Rashmin Manharbhai Chhaya, the new Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court has taken oath on Thursday.

Jagdish Mukhi who is the Assam Governor has administered to take the oath of office to Justice Rashmin M Chhaya who has replaced Justice N Kotiswar Singh. The new Chief Justice served as a former judge at Gujarat High Court.
Himanta Biswa Sarma, who is the Chief Minister of Assam, along with Biswajit Daimary and many other dignatories were also present at the ceremony.
CM Sarma, wrote in his twitter handle, “On behalf of the people of Assam, I convey my best wishes to Hon’ble Justice Chhaya on taking over as the new Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court. A legal luminary with years of experience, I am confident his assuming the office will definitely aid our Justice delivery system.”
