Chief Justice on PIL

As per reports he said, “ Constitution provides separation of power among three organs and the harmonious function between three organs strengthens democracy. While discharging our duty, we should be mindful of ‘lakshman rekha’. He made the remark based on the legislative scrutiny during the last independence day and that his remarks were mis constructed. He further stated that he does not want to interfere in the sphere of legislation.

The chief justice further raised concern over the mis use of PIL or the Public Interest Litigations. As per the Chief Justice, the Public interest are no longer the concerns for many officials and instead, personal goals are being settled. He said, “deliberate inaction by governments despite judicial pronouncements is not good for the health of democracy.”
