CBI conducts raids at five residences of Moloy Ghatak, Law and Labour Minister, West Bengal on September 7 in Kolkata and Asansol. The raid was conducted in connection with the alleged coal smuggling scandal.

CBI Conducts Raids At Moloy Ghatak’s Residences
It may be noted that the raid was conducted after Moloy Ghatak ignored repeated summons to appear before the investigative agency. The team included six members, however, they were moved to Alipore, Lake Gardens and near Raj Bhavan.

As per the sources, the Law Minister was not at home during the raid. Moreover, Trinamool Congress’s Abhishek Banerjee was called to appear at ED headquaters for questioning in August. As a part of the investigation into the coal scandal, both Banerjee and Ghatak are being monitored by the ED.
