On Friday night, India Women lost the first Twenty20 International (T20I) of the three-match series to England Women by 18 runs (DLS method), but the match saw India’s Harleen Deol produce a moment of magic on the field. Amy Ellen Jones’ whirlwind knock came to an end when Harleen Deol, fielding at long-off, hit an absolute stunner on the boundary.
The 23-year-old Indian, who was stationed at the long-off boundary, stretched full length to grasp the ball, but with the momentum carrying her over the boundary ropes, she demonstrated the great presence of mind by throwing the ball in the air and then jumping back into the field of play to complete the catch.
Harleen was surrounded by her astonished colleagues, and England Women’s opener Danielle Wyatt couldn’t help but praise the Indian.
