Assam wins 3 medals at the National Games
As per reports, Amlan Borgohain bagged a gold in 100m race. He finished the race within a stipulated time period of 10.38 seconds.
Secondly, Chayanika Gogoi wins a silver in the 10km cycling category. Third, Nayanmoni Saikia and Popi Hazarika wins bronze and silver medal respectively in the 59Kg category of weightlifting.
Narendra Modi declared the opening of 36th National Games in a grand ceremony. This is said to be the first time that the event is being held at Gujarat. It is said to be the biggest National Games ever. The sporting event has been organized in six cities of Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot and Bhavnagar.
