The number of crimes against minor girl children is increasing gradually. One such incident is reported again, where a minor girl was allegedly raped by an ‘Imam’ or the priest of a mosque in Lanka’s Udali area.
The incident occurred when the mother of the minor girl was away from home and had gone to fetch goats.

The Shocking incident
Taking advantage of the situation, Abdul Samat who is the Imam of East Udali Mosque committed this heinous act. A complaint has been registered against the ‘Imam’ by the family members of the girl at the Udali police station. The accused was arrested by the police as is now under custody for interrogation.
Earlier, on June 20, a body of a 9-year old girl from Balidunga village in Morigaon district’s Bhuragaon police station was discovered in a field near the Brahmaputra. The girl was allegedly raped and the cause of the death was strangling.
Accused shot
The 65-year-old accused Sayed Ali was shot in the knee by the police as he tried to flee from custody and was sent to GMCH for treatment.
