Assam Police seize large consignment
The team was led by Partha Sarathi Mahanta who is the Joint Commissioner of Police and the Sub Inspector Kapil Pathak together seized the drugs that had been transported from a neighbouring state.
Assam Chief Minister, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma shared a tweet to inform the seizure of a drug consignment that weighed around 800 kgs. He wrote, “In one of the biggest hauls, Guwahati Police team led by JCP Partha Mahanta and SI Kapil Pathak hit a major inter-state narco network and seized 800 kgs of Ganja from a truck at Jorabat. The consignment from a neighbouring state was going to a state in the south. Kudos”
Earlier this month, Karbi Anglong Police seized a consignment of a huge quantity of Heroin in Assam. As per reports, they nabbed the smugglers who were travelling in a Maruti Suzuki Ciaz Car in the 12 Mile area. They caught them near the Assam – Nagaland border and recovered 152 soapboxes containing 2 kgs of heroin. The drugs were worth 14 crores in the black market.
