Assam Govt led by Himanta Sarma wants programs to execute on schedule

According to official sources, Assam Govt-led Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wants to see that programs that have been announced are executed on schedule. It is common to notice that work on initiatives begins soon after they are announced, yet many schemes are delayed.

Moreover, costs rise as a result of project delays. To end the practice of postponing projects, the Chief Minister has emphasized the need of finishing projects/schemes within the timeframes specified, otherwise, officials will be held liable.

According to sources, during the previous administration’s tenure, work on many of the announced schemes/projects progressed at a rate of 10% to 50%, and other projects were not completed even after a decade.

However, the costs of postponed projects continue to rise. Money from the state coffers is squandered, and the general population is unable to benefit from the projects.
