Interlocutory Application will be filed by the Assam Government so as to provide Aadhar cards to all those applicants of NRC whose bio metrics has been locked in the updating process.

Assam Government’s move
As per reports, Chief Minister Himanta Biswas Sarma said, “Approval of filling of an IA in the Supreme Court for relaxation of Para 9 of the SOP and for providing Aadhar cards to NRC applicants whose Aadhar cards are kept on hold because of existing SOP.”
The initiative taken the CM will be benefial to a majority of the people especially those under the poverty line, job seekers and students who still do not have aadhar cards.

Over the couple of years, many people has submitted their biometrics to the NRC to update the process. Now these people are facing issues in generating their aadhar as their bio metrics has been kept on hold as per the directives of Supreme Court. According to the reports from the Assam Government, a notice was issued to the Supreme Court twice to allow people under this circumstance to generate their aadhar cards, especially to the ones whose name has been included in the final draft.
