As per reports by Sentinel, people attending a Puja Utsav in Kurkuri Tea Estate of Assam’s Cachar district, after having ‘Prasad’ were hospitalized.
Almost 24 people were hospitalized after having ‘Khichdi’ as a Prasad.
Soon after having the Khichdi Prasad people started complaining about stomach ache and were vomiting.
6 people shifted to Kalain Community Health Centre
Further, according to the report, Six more people were shifted to CHC after they complained about severe stomach pain.
And all the other serious patients for better treatment were referred to Silchar Medical College Hospital.
Also, a doctor said, “Around 24 people have been suffering from diarrhoea, vomiting, fever after consuming the ‘prasad’ at the ‘Puja Utsav’ since last Monday. Currently, 6 people were admitted to Kalain Community Health Center.”
He added, “all the serious patients have been referred to Silchar Medical College Hospital (SMCH) for better medication. Primary treatments were provided to the patients and urine and stool specimens of the patients were collected for health screening,”.
