On 9th September night, an 18-day-old baby was kidnapped in Nankar village of Bongaigaon. The baby got kidnapped while the mother was sleeping.
FIR registered; investigation is underway
The mother claimed that when she woke up in the morning of 10th September the baby was missing from the bed. It has been suspected that the 18-day-old baby had been stolen by some miscreants on the night when the mother and the baby were fast asleep. The mother has filed an FIR at the police station. And the Investigation is still underway.
Similar incident happened in Cachar
A similar incident happened in Cachar district of Assam in August, where a 5-month-old baby boy was kidnapped from his house in Sonai Kajidahar area while he was sleeping with his parents.
In connection to the case Police have arrested three persons on charges of allegedly kidnapping and murdering a five-month-old boy.
Recently Guwahati police have caught and solved many kidnapping cases
The kidnapping cases are not new in the state as recently the Guwahati Police have solved two kidnapping cases and rescued the victims. One case wes registered on September 3 at Dispur Police Station and another one was registered on September 5 at Khetri Police Station. In both kidnapping cases the victims were minor girls.
On 14th August, the Guwahati Police reunited a 3-month-old baby with his mother after he was kidnapped on 11th August.
On 11th July The Guwahati Police arrested another person in regard to a kidnapping case of two businessmen from the Garbhanga Reserve Forest on June 30.
