On Tuesday, Arvind Kejriwal, President of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Chief Minister of Delhi, made seven announcements regarding job opportunities and unemployment in Goa. While, for next year’s election, Kejriwal’s party is preparing to take on the ruling BJP and the Congress.

Arvind Kejriwal’s statement

“Youth told me that if one wants a govt job here, they need to know any minister, MLA-it’s not possible to get govt job in Goa without bribe/recommendation. We’ll end this. Goa’s youth will have right over govt jobs here,” said by the Chief Minister and AAP national convener, Arvind Kejriwal.

Parties preparing upcoming Assembly election

An unemployment compensation of Rs 3,000 (Rs 5,000 in some cases) and 80% allotment in private sector jobs for local residents were among seven assurances given by Kejriwal today in Goa. Meanwhile, the AAP chief and his party are getting ready to contest the upcoming Assembly election.

Different states, same promises

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal made similar promises to Uttarakhand voters on Sunday. He told them, if AAP voted in, they would combat corruption and assured that at least one unemployed individual from each household would get a job.

“Goa is a beautiful state… the people are nice… and God has given everything to Goa, but politicians and parties have looted. We need to stop this loot (and) have made an elaborate plan,” he commenced.

Assured allowance

He further emphasized the impact of COVID-19 on the state’s finances, however, Goa mostly depends on tourism revenue and said unemployment allowances for the affected people of the state, as well as those whose jobs had been gone due to restrictions and bans on the mining industry would be given an allowance of ₹ 5,000 per month.

Mr. Kejriwal also took a swipe at Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and the ruling BJP, speaking of their new schemes of free water to 60% of residents at doorstep delivery have been running smoothly in Delhi for several years.

“I heard (Pramod) Sawant has made water free in Goa… this is good news (but) we did it four years ago in Delhi. I also heard Sawant has started doorstep delivery… we did it three years back in Delhi.”

“Sawant is copying the ‘Delhi model’ in Goa… When the original (referring to the Aam Aadmi Party) is available… what is the need for a duplicate?” he raises a question.

Arvind Kejriwal moreover provided 300 units of free electricity and announced the state’s famers’ power bills would be entirely paid by the government. He also assured the voters of 24 hours electricity supply. Also, Mr.Sawant offered free electricity in August at an estimated ₹ 120 crore cost to the state.
