The annual Amazon Prime membership will be ₹500 more expensive. The previous ₹999 plan will now be at ₹1,499, thus users will have to pay more to continue receiving benefits, reportedly the new plans will rollout from Tuesday (tomorrow)
New subscription plan
According to NDTV’s Gadget 360, the new Amazon Prime monthly subscription will cost 179 rupees instead of 129 rupees. The quarterly pack, which previously cost ₹329, will now cost ₹459. The price of a 365-day membership pack has been increased from ₹999 to ₹1,499 as of December 13.
Previous subscription plans
Amazon launched its Prime membership in India in 2016. It was once available for Rs. 499 a year, but Amazon raised the price to Rs. 999 in 2017. To grow its membership base, the US e-commerce giant launched its Prime monthly subscription in the country in 2018.
