About the iconic film “Dr. Bezbaruah”

The original film ‘Dr Bezbaruah’ was directed by Brajen Barua, an Assamese filmmaker. It was released in 1969. Now, Assam’s renowned screenwriter, playwright and lyricist Rajdweep, who was recently awarded by a jury that included Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani, will come up with a sequel to this iconic Assamese film as a screenwriter. This one will be his fourth Assamese film as a screenwriter.

Assam’s renowned actor Nipan Goswami will also be a part

According to media reports, Assam’s veteran actor Nipon Goswami will play the role of the protagonist (doctor) in the original film and also will be directing the film ‘Dr Bezbaruah 2′. The veteran actor had played the role of the protagonist in the original film.

Nipan Goswami’s son Sidhartha Goswami will also star in the film.

What Rajdweep has to say regarding the film

The screenwriter Rajdweep has said, “Actually, the makers approached me first and then we had a couple of meetings over whether we should go for a remake or a sequel. So we started with the old story first and tried to re-work it”.

“But after some point, we all came to a point that we should think of a fresh story, of course connecting with the old one. Thus, I started working on the story of this sequel,” he added.
