Murders are always scary and what’s worse is that some of them remain unsolved forever. As people are fully aware, most of the murders are gang related violence in the “scary“ parts of town.
When regular citizens are gunned down in mass while back-to-school shopping and many more. Unsolved murders are always disturbing. Even after having so much technology we fail to find out who committed a sin and went against the law to draw blood and tears.
Everybody loves mystery. But what happens when a mystery never reaches its satisfying ending – that Scooby-Doo unveiling of the sinner who went against law to shed tears ? The following unsolved murders are strange, scary, and frustratingly without an ending. They are some of the most perplexing unsolved murders of all time.
Let’s start with the most vexing and spine chilling unsolved murders of all time:
1. JonBenet Ramsey was found dead in her family’s house
JonBenet Ramsey‘s young, beautiful face often appeared on the front page of newspaper and television screens after she was found dead in the basement of her family’s Colorado home. The crime made the entire neighborhood chaotic in Boulder, Colo.
Benet’s mother, Patricia, told police she woke up early that morning and found her daughter missing. She immediately called 911 to file a report on kidnapping and told police that she found a note that demanded $118,000.Benet’s father, John, told police that Hours later, he found his daughter’s body in their basement.
The postmortem said that the little girl died of asphyxiation which was caused by strangulation, according to the Denver Post. Her death was declared a homicide.
The Ramseys fell under a cloud of suspicion immediately after the declaration, but no one was ever charged in the case.
“I did not kill my daughter,”John Ramsey assured the reporters again in May.
2. Zodiac Killer taunted police with clues
The “Zodiac Killer” was not an ordinary murderer. He grabbed media attention instead of hiding and enjoyed taunting police with creepy notes and clues. He killed five people at random in northern California in 1968 and 1969.He also wrote a letter to police saying there are dozens of other victims that are yet to be killed.
His deadly desires to kill people began in the month of December 1968, when two teenagers were shot to death by him in a parking lot.
The San Francisco Examiner, which had received the cryptic notes anonymously claimed that the letters were filled with coded messages.
“This is the Zodiac speaking,” the murderer wrote in a letter.
No suspects have been confirmed in the case till date. The San Francisco Police Department stated that the investigation is still going on.
3. Naked woman was sliced cleanly in half at the waist
The sight of a naked woman lying feet from the sidewalk stopped a mother and her child in their tracks. The body was sliced cleanly in half at the waist.
Not a single drop of blood was there on her body. The slaying of 22-year-old Elizabeth instantly captured headlines in the year 1947, with newspapers later naming her the “Black Dahlia” in part because of her dark hair and for her black clothing.
The dreamer who came to California for fame, was bled dry before being dumped near a residential area of Los Angeles, said the authorities. Her body appeared professionally cut up, and one breast was ripped off, according to the records by FBI.
It’s unclear how the aspiring actor met such a fate. The Los Angeles Police Department also made their statement regarding the case that they are still investigating the cold case, although it did not provide any details. “It’s an unsolved case,” LAPD Officer Norma Eisenman said. “There is no additional information per the detectives.”
4. London’s most notorious serial killer -Jack the Ripper
London’s most notorious serial killer threatened the East End over a century ago, killing prostitutes and haunting the area. He made himself famous as Jack the Ripper by killing at least five women. Dread grew among the people as the dead bodies began to pile up near each other within a period of three-months in 1888. The neighborhood was “scared to an extent bordering on panic,” when news of a second female victim came out, The Morning Post reported at the time. The local newspaper called the murder “barbarous,” and stated that the manner of the murder was “too horrible for description.”
His signature and gory method of murder — and his skill with a knife made the local authorities wonder at first whether the suspect was a doctor or a butcher. All the victims of the so-called “Whitechapel Murders” — Annie Chapman,Elizabeth Stride,Mary Ann Nichols, Mary Jane Kelly and Catherine Eddowes had their throats slashed, some of them had their stomachs slit and organs ripped out before being dumped on the streets, according to the author Dave Yost, who explored the five deaths in one of his book.
Even with all determination on the case, police were never able to catch the killer.both amateur and professional historians and criminologists have encountered the cases and tried their best to find the killer’s identity, but it looks like Jack the Ripper took his secret to the grave and it remained unsolved forever.
5. Tylenol was intentionally poisoned with Potassium Cyanide
From Sept 29, 1982 to 1 October 1982, 7 people died in the original Tylenol murders, with a few more deaths which are similar copycat crimes. After 7 people’s death, it was clear that Tylenol was intentionally poisoned with Potassium Cyanide and Chicago police department gave warnings about it through a loudspeaker.
As per the sources the killer must have done this within a day or two before the murder news started coming out as cyanide would eat through the capsules if held for a longer period of time. It was easy for the murderer to do such a horrible task since there were no security cameras at that time.
Well-known suspects like New York City resident James Lewis was considered a prime suspect, since he sent a threatening letter to President Reagan concerning tax codes earlier. But he was ruled out due to DNA evidence.Even, major suspects like Unabomber Ted Kaczynski ,Roger Arnold and Laurie Dunn walked away due to lack of evidence.
