Police in Assam’s Sivasagar district has detained a 35-year-old man for allegedly attempting to murder his wife.
On 2nd April morning, the accused, Amrit Gogoi, allegedly attempted to murder his wife, Rinku Gogoi, by slicing her throat with a knife.
This tragic occurrence occurred in Pator village in Assam’s Sivasagar district.
Moreover, according to sources, the victim, Rinku Gogoi, filed an FIR at the Sivasagar Sadar police station on April 27 against her husband, Amrit Gogoi.
Wife files complaint against Man for abusing her
Rinku Gogoi said in her complaint that her husband, Amrit Gogoi, used to abuse her while being intoxicated.
Sivasagar police summoned the pair on April 29 based on the complaint and cautioned the husband Amrit Gogoi not to torture his wife.
However, Amrit Gogoi allegedly attempted to murder Rinku Gogoi on Monday as she was busy with home duties.
The victim, on the other hand, was able to save herself and ran to a neighbor’s house.
Neighbors later got her admitted to the Sivasagar civil hospital.
Meanwhile, the accused spouse has been apprehended by authorities in Assam’s Sivasagar district.
