On Saturday, two brothers were allegedly stabbed to death by a group of goons over a land dispute in Assam. The incident is stated to have taken place at Garemari village in the Barpeta district of Assam.

According to police sources, the group of attackers attacked the two brothers with a pointy knife and other different types of weapons in the village that falls under the jurisdiction of the Barpeta Sadar Police Station.
Reason of killing is land dispute
According to the statement by the family members of the deceased, the group of attackers aimed to capture land which belonged to one of the brothers.
This caused a dispute which in the long run resulted in the death of both the brothers. The attackers reportedly live in the area close to Charakpara village.
The attackers quickly left the scene after killing the 2 brothers
The bodies of the two brothers have been later taken for postmortem.
Body of a youth discovered
In another incident last week, a body of a youth bearing cut marks was discovered in a drain in the Bhangagarh location in Guwahati.
The accused was later arrested by the police and found out that the deceased had borrowed cash from him as the reason to kill.
