Uttar Pradesh brides are becoming increasingly daring and demanding. In recent weeks, UP brides have rejected their grooms because he was either intoxicated or bald.
A UP bride has now refused to marry since the groom failed to bring a cameraman with him.
On Sunday, an incident was reported from a village in Kanpur Dehat district.
The marriage of a farmer’s daughter from a village in Kanpur Dehat’s Mangalpur police station area to a man from Bhognipur was arranged.
When the ‘baraat’ (wedding procession) arrived, it was greeted by the bride’s family, and the bride and groom made their way to the platform for the ‘Jaimaal’ ritual.
UP Bride declined to participate in the marriage
However, when the UP bride realized there would be no photographer present to capture the special moments, she declined to participate in the ceremony. She later left the stage and went to her next-door neighbor’s house.
Everyone attempted to persuade the girl, but she asked, “How is he going to take care of me in the future if he doesn’t care about our marriage today?”
The family’s elders attempted to persuade her as well but to no avail.
The case was then taken to the police station, where both parties agreed to return the cash and goods that had been transferred by mutual agreement.
Dori Lal, Sub-Inspector of Mangalpur Police Station, stated the problem was resolved cordially.
“Both the parties returned the goods and cash given to each other. After this, the groom left for his native place without a bride,” he said and added, “There was a dispute over the photographer and videographer which the groom side did not arrange due to which the girl got angry and refused to marry.”
