At the Inter-state Bus Terminus (ISBT) in Guwahati on Wednesday, a team of officers from Gorchuk Police Station in Guwahati detained one Kinder M Sangma of South Garo Hills (SGH), Meghalaya, carrying fake Indian currency notes (FICN) worth Rs. 7 lakhs.

After getting some information, the police launched an operation, and the suspect was apprehended. He is a native of Tura, Meghalaya’s neighbouring state, according to police.

According to police, the man was set to leave Guwahati and travel to Tura from Inter-state Bus Terminus when he was detained before his bus left the terminal.

Moreover, further investigation is being conducted, and legal action has been taken.
The suspect has been identified as Kinder M Sangma. According to accounts, he purchased the currency notes from another person in Guwahati.

Guwahati police took to Twitter to say, “At ISBT today, a WGPD squad from Gorchuk PS nabbed Kinder M Sangma of South Garo Hills, Meghalaya, with FICN valued Rs. 7 lakh. Additional inquiry is underway, and legal action has been taken.”
