The Delhi Police arrested an Assamese man on 8th May for offering Namaz on the tricolor flag at the Delhi airport.
Mohammed Tariq Aziz, the man who was involved in the incident, was recognized.
The Man was offering Namaz on the National Flag
Mohammad Tariq Aziz was offering Namaz by spreading the national flag on the ground when a CISF jawan at Delhi airport noticed him.
However, the CISF detained Tariq Aziz in connection with suspicious actions and afterward handed the man over to the Delhi Police.
After analyzing the CCTV and receiving a report from the CISF, Delhi Police filed an FIR against Mohammad Tariq Aziz under Section 2 of the Prevention of Insult to National Honor Act 1971.
In CCTV footage from Delhi Airport, Mohammad Tariq Aziz was clearly seen offering Namaz while standing on the floor and spreading the national flag between de-boarding gates 1 and 3.
According to the FIR, Mohammad Tariq Aziz, a Dimapur, Assam native, arrived in Delhi on May 7 on flight number 6E24 from Dubai and planned to return to Assam on May 8.
Mohammad Tariq Aziz was detained, and his passport and other travel documents were seized. He was eventually released on bond.
